The Painted Door

I love a brightly painted front door!  They are so inviting, show your sense of style, and brighten up the front of your home.

Your front door is one of the first things that people see when they pass by or visit your house.  And painting your front door a fun, coordinating color is an easy and inexpensive way to instantly update and add curb appeal to your home.  It’s also a fun and stylish way to show your personality and put a little of your home’s interior style, on the outside.

So check out these great examples of how adding a little (or a lot) of color to your front door, can take your door from okay- to fabulous!

This lovely blue door really stands out against the white trim and light gray siding on this home.  It reminds me of the beach 🙂

I love this peachy pink door!  It’s so bright and fun- but not overly feminine.  And it looks great with the light gray painted brick.

Yellow doors are so bright and cheery, and I love the richness of this yellow color against the darker gray and black.  Talk about a POP of color!

This royal blue door is a great color and a good option if you aren’t completely sold on the whole brightly painted front door thing.  It still adds a little fun and interest- without being too daring.

Tangerine colored doors really look striking against white, warm neutrals, gray’s and black.  It can be a fun and more modern alternative to a classic red door on a traditional style home- without taking away from the traditional feel of the house.

I am a huge sucker for aqua/turquoise doors.  They are fun, bright and remind me of the beach- and who doesn’t want to come home to the beach everyday?!?!

Purple doors are dramatic and so lovely.  It’s not a look for everyone- but it really makes a bold statement.

Light aqua/mint colors look really nice with light gray or light warm neutrals.  It’s a great color and creates a calming and inviting entrance to your home.

Red front doors are a classic.  But this bright orangey red is a more modern take on the classic (usually darker) red front door, and will instantly update the look of your entrance way.

Now I know that Black is not a bright or new color for painted front doors.  But this black glossy front door is really stunning and classy.  The gloss finish makes this a high-end, classic look, that never goes out of style!


So no matter what your style, there is a color out there with your front door’s name on it.  And after all- it’s only paint, right?!?! 🙂
